Contest: Letterboxes

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the first post on this blog! Yes, believe it or not, A Cleverly-Titled Logic Puzzle Blog was once a logic puzzle blog, devoted to logic puzzles! To commemorate this occasion, here's a word puzzle that can be solved entirely with logic.

Place the words in the list below such that each reads in a straight line horizontally, vertically, or diagonally starting from one of the yellow highlighted given letters. Each yellow highlighted letter starts at least one listed word.

Not all cells will be filled in by the words; the answer string for this puzzle is the number of unused cells, followed by a colon, then the coordinates of the unused cells, from the top row to the bottom row and going left to right in each row (for example, 3:A4A14E2).
APTITUDE, ARCHIVIST, ASCOT, ASHEN, ASLEEP, BAYOU, BREAD, DEACONESS, DEVOUT, FARAWAY, FORMULA, FUCHSIA, GIZMO, GRADUATE, GREEDY, GURU, INTREPID, ISOTOPE, LAID, LITANY, LOONIE, MELODRAMA, MEMO, MESA, MIGHT, OFFAL, ORDEAL, OTTOMAN, OVERDUE, PATCHWORK, PEDDLE, PEOPLE, PTARMIGAN, RACEHORSE, REAL, SASSY, SATELLITE, SHOWCASE, STONEWALL, SUNFISH, VANILLA, VOLE, WARM, WISDOM, WRAITH

Send your answer to the above puzzle to glmathgrant[at]gmail[dot]com before 11:59 PM Central time on July 20, 2018 to enter the contest. A randomly-selected entrant with the correct answer will win signed copies of the Spring 2015 issue of Will Shortz's Wordplay, the April 2018 and June 2018 issues of Games World of Puzzles, and my book Logic Puzzles 101! Said winner and up to 15 other randomly-selected entrants with the correct answer will win the LiveJournal Logic Pack, a digital packet of 300 logic puzzles that I wrote before starting this blog. Yes, that's up to 16 winners! I will also donate $3 to Child's Play Charity, which outfits children's hospitals and shelters with toys and games, making coping with the circumstances which put them there just a little bit easier, for every winner I have. That means if I have at least 16 entrants, I'll donate $48 to Child's Play Charity! You might want to spread the word to your puzzle-loving friends if you want to help me reach this goal. . . :)

Good luck, and yappy solving!
