Monday Mutant 3: Process of Illumination (cipher)

Monday Mutants is a series in which I will attempt to experiment with "mutant" puzzles. These could be existing puzzle types with an unusual change in the rules, hybrids combining elements from multiple puzzle types, or puzzle types neither invented nor popularized by Nikoli.
In this Process of Illumination puzzle, the given numbers have been replaced by letters; all instances of a particular letter represent the same number, but two different letters must represent different numbers. The rules are otherwise unchanged.

It seems to me like there's a really obvious error in the bottom right-hand corner of the puzzle, unless I'm misunderstanding the rules...

I solved this one just fine. In the spirit of not posting spoilers, all I'll say is there's a fairly obvious resolution.

I wasn't sure what to say in reply to your comment, Sarah, but mellowmelon said it more eloquently than I'd've been able to. If you still can't see the "fairly obvious resolution", e-mail me. :)

Yep, the puzzle works fine. In fact, the situation in the bottom right corner is the first/easiest entry into the puzzle.

The situation on the bottom right corner would have been the first/easiest entry, if I'd been thinking at all. Instead, I spent some time trying to figure out which of the five letters could represent "4" (a deduction that the information from the lower right corner makes so much easier...).
