This is a good puzzle concept, but I'm really annoyed by your choice of dashed lines for this one since it's a fill-based puzzle. Ideally some light gray diagonal lines could be included as well, but a solid grid alone would make my day.

I'll let you know how I like it once I finish solving, but just thought you ought to know my feelings :)

It ended up being a really satisfying puzzle once I got the hang of it. Great job :) Off to do the next one...

I agree with the solid vs. dash comment. Entirely because this was just about perfect to solve in paint.

Neat concept, would enjoy a larger/harder version.

Nice puzzle. And thanks for introducing these, I had not seen them. If I see one, will Shakashaka be written in katakana so I can recognize it?

Arren and David, there is a Shakashaka editor at this site: http://indi.s58.xrea.com/pzpr/v3/index_en.html. It has an English menu and is very easy to use.

linked_puffbird: Shakashaka is シャカシャカ and Hebi-Ichigo is へびいちご.

Interesting different type of solve. ... I think. My whites did not all connect and I was not sure if that was certain or implied in the rules as well?

Thanks.

TheSubro: There is no rule saying the white regions have to connect in any way.

Nice. I'm really enjoying that you're not sticking to the standard set of extremely well-known Nikoli creations.
