Outside the Fox Puzzles: Triple Crown Fox Derby #8 (RESULTS!)

The 8th quarterly Triple Crown Fox Derby from two weeks ago has concluded. Click here for a PDF of all the puzzle solutions. The contest results follow.

12 foxes qualified for the first race, the Kittucky Derby, by solving all three puzzles. Race results:
Gate 2: Cardigan, Fan Of Xcitement!, Faux-Chi, Fiddles, Ruin Seeker, Spark
Gate 3: Farrah Foxcett, Mesquite, Off to Barcelona
Gate 4: Bob
Gate 9: JimGO
Gate 46: Ferris Homer Swiper Carlson
Bofox and Guy Fox did not attempt the Ring-Ring and thus did not qualify. Gate 1 was left wide open, and any latecomer could have taken it to steal the win from Bob. Gate 2 was extremely crowded, as half of the foxes attempted to use it. Besides the winner Bob, 2 other foxes managed to finish.

14 foxes qualified for the second race, the Sneakness Stakes, by solving two puzzles. Race results:
Gate 1: Spark
Gate 2: Fiddles, Guy Fox
Gate 3: Fan Of Xcitement!, Off to Barcelona, Ruin Seeker
Gate 4: Bob
Gate 5: Cardigan, Farrah Foxcett, Mesquite
Gate 7: Faux-Chi
Gate 9: JimGO
Gate 46: Ferris Homer Swiper Carlson
Gate 50 3/4: Bofox
Spark seized the opening in Gate 1 and clinched victory. Gates 3 and 5 were tied for the most crowded gate, with 3 foxes each. Besides the winner Spark, 3 other foxes managed to finish. Gate 50 3/4 is reserved for foxes who solve the puzzles, but fail to select a gate; while these foxes do not finish the race and thus cannot win prizes, rumor has it that they are whisked off to a magical school at which they learn how to select an integer from 1 through 50.

14 foxes qualified for the third race, the Tailmont Stakes, by solving one puzzle. Race results:
Gate 1: Farrah Foxcett
Gate 2: Faux-Chi, Fiddles, Guy Fox, Mesquite
Gate 3: Cardigan, Off to Barcelona
Gate 4: Bob, Fan Of Xcitement!, Ruin Seeker, Spark
Gate 9: JimGO
Gate 46: Ferris Homer Swiper Carlson
Gate 50 3/4: Bofox
Once again, Gate 1 becomes the winning gate. Gate 2 was the most crowded gate, with 4 foxes; gate 4 would have tied it, but two of its would-be occupants were on the winners' podium. Besides the winner Farrah Foxcett, 2 other foxes finished.

The three winners, Hollie Schmidt, Paul Krueger, and Teraxtar, will soon be contacted about redeeming their prizes. Additionally, a $40 money pool will be split between the Food Bank of West Central Texas, the Food Bank for Larimer County, and the Palm Beach County Food Bank ($13.34 each), and this donation will be matched by three anonymous benefactors. Thanks to you all for participating! The 9th quarterly Triple Crown Fox Derby will be held on January 4, 2027.
