A Cleverly-Titled Logic Puzzle Blog: Contest: A Timely Crisscross (easier version!)

Last week, I posted the contest A Timely Crisscross. As promised, here is an easier version with two words placed at the outset. Despite it no longer being Christmastime, I hope you will try this puzzle out. Remember, you stand a chance to win prizes and to help feed people (see the original post for more details)! Who's the author?

Grant Fikes has been writing logic puzzles in an amateur capacity since 2005, and in a professional capacity since 2013. He serves as one of the most prolific contributors to the blog on Grandmaster Puzzles; his works have also appeared in Akil Oyunlari, in Sudoku Xtra, the United States Puzzle Competition (2012-2014), and in a smartphone app. Grant has also created Kakuro puzzles for Kakuro Conquest (the puzzles haven't appeared yet, for whatever reason). As a word puzzle constructor, Grant's puzzles have appeared in the short-lived Will Shortz's Wordplay, in GAMES World of Puzzles, and in the smartphone app Bonza, and his creation Pent Words has won an award from Kadon Enterprises.

Excluding puzzles in the Logicsmith Exhibition series which were created by others, or where otherwise indicated, all puzzles on this blog are the intellectual property of Grant Fikes, and are released under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial 3.0 United States License.
